Crawling

Novaley has been crawling for about two weeks now, and I have been trying to get a video of it to show everyone, except every time I do she'll just sit up and stare at me haha.  Well this morning after she woke up I got one! I think she was unsure of it at first but here it is anyways! :)

Jan 2013-March 12

I haven't updated in a long time. Too long. I have just been so busy with school and trying to find a house, I just haven't found the time to do this until now.  I wrote down a list yesterday with Joe so I'll try to go off that starting with Joe's birthday.

January 10, 2013

Playing with her "friends" until Joe got home....

Went out to dinner.  Isaac met up with us and we had dinner then left to get dessert at TCBY... unfortunately they changed their hours so we got there a few minutes too late...so we had to go to Kroger and get this cookie cake instead!

She loves her favorite babysitter! Who would have ever thought Isaac would be our babysitter lol.

Anyways, Joe had a great day...I can't believe he's 25! It seems like just yesterday he was only 20 and I was 18.....yikes!

A few days later her high chair from my parents came in the mail!

I'm just going to put random pictures from the month in wherever I think they fit.

We went shopping and bought a few things with the giftcard Alex got her for Christmas.

Trying out her new walker...

I love this onesie that Steph bought for her.

Joe and I decided to make Novaley a toy box instead of buying one for $100+. She wanted to play in it instead.

I loved this outfit........for obvious reasons.

We put a memory foam "mattress" in her pnp and she also sleeps with a blanket. I guess we're just the worst parents ever.

Eating avocado....

We're doing baby led weaning (BLW) so sometimes she gets a little messy.........

6 Months!

We actually took her 6 month pictures on her 6 month "birthday"

I wanted to get her a half of a birthday cake, but Joe said no. Oh well.

She weighed 16 pounds at her 6 month check up...which was 4 days later on my birthday.  And was about 26''.  I can't believe how big she's getting!  She also had 3 shots...she didn't even cry for the first 2 and the nurse was like "wow that's strange, you would never know I'm even giving her shots."  The third she whimpered haha, and then she went back to playing with her moose and fell asleep.  I guess she knew it was my birthday so she didn't want to cry!

So January 30th was my birthday and it was nothing extraordinary--special because it was my first birthday with Novaley, but other than that Joe and I just went to Texas Roadhouse and he got me an orchid from him and Novaley.

I was writing a paper and she started crying so I turned around and this is what I saw......

Eating a green bean.

I love this picture haha

After Ash Wednesday mass.

Valentine's Day

Hopefully a few of you got one of these 4 different v-day cards.

Here are a few other v-day pictures

We didn't realize she was holding a Hershey kiss so long that it melted in her hand. Luckily she didn't notice and didn't eat any!

In pjs from Joe's parents

Well, at about 6.5 months she started scooting around and crawling backwards haha. Now she crawls and is always wanting to stand.

She got her own laptop, but still prefers to play on ours.

She started pulling up on anything and everything.

and standing...

Her new favorite place to be in the living room.....

Thanks to Isaac's sister Illeana for these 2 outfits!

Before we went out to dinner with a few of Joe's coworkers.

This isn't a real candy bar. It's an organic teether.

Wearing suspenders....

Wearing a onesie that the Kronebusches made at my shower.

7 Months!

Is this not the cutest baby hoodie you've ever seen? A lady in MN actually makes them from organic fabric that she hand dyes herself. I want to buy one in every color!

We woke up to flooding in our apartment last week...so that was fun to deal with for 4 days.

Petting some horses at Babies R Us....

haha.

She's had a stomach bug for about a week now and when we weighed her at the doctor last week she was 18 pounds 4 ounces!

Her new walker.

Playing with her family member flash cards...

Driving to the mall yesterday.

So what else has been new with us...well we've been looking and putting offers on about 2304938409 houses since the beginning of January.  The market down here is crazy. Most homes are going for full price or above with the buyer even paying all closing costs.  Initially we thought that we could get a huge, really nice house down here for cheap, but unless we want a crappy builder and want to live in the ghetto--that isn't going to happen.  Houses are actually MORE expensive here than in MN and there is barely any inventory since homes sell within 2 weeks..usually less.  98% of homes have subdivision fees between $400-$800+ per year, and add in the fact that TX has some of the highest property taxes at 2.8-4%, yeah homes are not cheap, unfortunately.  So that has been really great for us. We're just praying we find something soon (that will pass inspection) and don't have to extend our apartment lease again.

We also have been "going green."  I don't really know if Joe wants to, but for the most part he is on board with everything...especially when it will save us money in the long run.  Things like "unpaper towels," cloth napkins, cloth diapers, wool dryer balls that reduce drying time, hanging our clothes outside, etc.
I also have been doing a lot of research on going basically chemical free in our home.  The health foods store is our new best friend.  Also, we have this new organic/local farms delivery service called Greenling that delivers organic, local farm produced foods twice a week. It's awesome! Eventually I hope to switch completely to that and avoid having to go to the grocery store because every time we go we just buy junk or processed foods anyways.
It's crazy how much your perspective on the world changes once you have a baby!  Most people don't think twice about using this product or that or eating this or that, but I think most people would be shocked about the ingredients in everyday products if they really knew what they were.
If you want any info on any of that wellnessmama.com is a great blog to look at.

Anyways, Joe and I are both on Spring break right now and hopefully we can leave tomorrow to see my brothers in Hot Springs since we haven't seen them in a while.  But, we need to take her St. Patrick's day pictures before we leave..and probably her Easter pictures at the same time, even though I just decided on her dress tonight and have to order it still.

Besides that........I have been thinking of what I want to do for her 1st birthday party.  It will probably end up being catered at Canterbury for my side of the family, and we recently put a deposit down for her present. I'm not telling anyone what it is besides my family who is going to pitch in for it..and Isaac knows because he has been babysitting her every Thursday while I'm at observations. So no one besides those people are going to know until it's her birthday!

I think that about covers everything we had on the list.

See ya later!
